So you're asking yourself, what's so great about Lynn and Ron English? Why study with us? It goes without saying that we are all very good teachers, in fact, excellent professionals having knowledge and experience to teach... and teach well!

We teach all levels and are especially adept at test preparation -- TOEIC, TOEFL, MICHIGAN, CAMBRIDGE, SAT, GRE, and GMAT. These are difficult tests, especially SAT, GRE, and GMAT, and require competent teachers to help students get the scores they need.

After an interview and a classification test, a program will be prepared specially for you, to meet YOUR needs, objectives, and demands. Studying individually or in a small group, you will be well assisted to reach these goals.

In addition, we have a wide range of the latest teaching materials plus extra resources to cover all aspects of our students' learning. On hand for your use there is a great variety of books, magazines, CDs, audio tapes, DVDs, videos, and test material. More importantly, you can always be connected to us through our site and e-mail.

Our school, which opened in Jaunary of 1997, provides a cozy atmosphere, one where the learning process is enhanced by the friendly ambiance.

The teachers

LYNN, born in Chicago and a graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, has been living in Brazil for 40 years and can boast of a lifetime of experience as a teacher, coordinator, study abroad advisor, and ETS supervisor in charge of TOEFL, GMAT, GRE , and MICHIGAN testing.

RON, Lynn's son, graduated from PUC-MG with a degree in Economics and has lived in Los Angeles for six years where he worked for Texaco, as an administrator, and studied International Trade at UCLA. He has the Certificates of Proficiency in English from the Universities of Michigan and Cambridge, has concluded an English Teacher Training Course, and has attended many seminars.

MARILDA has lived in the U.S.A., has a Master's degree in English from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, and holds the Cambridge and Michigan Certificates of Proficiency in English. She has a BA in Psychology from PUC and has specialized in "Flower Therapy and English Learning". She also teaches at UNA.

VIVA's enthusiasm for teaching English can be witnessed by her constant presence at courses, lectures, and seminars, both here and in the U.S. Besides, she has the "Licenciatura para Ensino da Língua Inglesa" from UFMG. All this can be added to years of teaching experience, broadened by extensive traveling and an enormous desire to always improve.
